Hispaniola

Hispanioůa

I was searching for a boat in the enormous marina of Martinique. The days were long and nobody wanted to take me to the desired direction.

Normally I would never check the news from the skippers on the huge board at the marina. Once, in the end of my strength, and many rejections, I tried my luck and look at the board, and well...who could believe it, there was a small paper saying:

"To all travelers we are looking for a crew who could help us to sail to Dominican Republic (Hispaniola) and then Florida !!!"

That's how I found Ron - a former soldier participating in the Vietnam War. One of the sea wolf that continues his adventure until today. It was with him that I discovered Hispaniola. An island separated in two: Dominican Republic and Haiti. An island with its tensions and their wonderful people. People that helped a lot to a boat-hitchhiking pilgrim.
